What is a workflow?

A workflow is a process that includes a specific set of templates for explaining or detailing various (tax) operations. Silverfin offers several types of workflows to streamline different processes, including standard working papers for balance sheet and income statement explanations, annual accounts, corporate tax and more.

What appears on the landing page of a workflow?

When you open the workflow, you will see multiple functionalities that simplify the completion of your tasks.

  1. Progress Bar: The progress bar at the top of your workflow page shows your overall task completion progress. It provides you with a percentage and an overview of to-do items, checks, reconciliations, and selected accounts that still require attention. Your objective is to achieve 100% on the progress bar, indicating that all tasks within the workflow have been completed.
  2. Templates: Templates are represented by icons: red triangle, yellow square, and green circle. A red triangle indicates pending tasks for a template. Complete required actions, and the red triangle transforms into a green circle, increasing your progress.
  3. Stars: Active templates have a yellow star and light blue text. Yellow star indicates that template requires reconciliation. If an account has a star, a red triangle or green dot will appear next to it. If a template isn't needed for a specific file, you can unstar it.
Deactivating a template removes it from the export, bringing you closer to 100% progress.

How can I add a workflow to a file?

To add a workflow to a file, click 'Add workflow' on a client landing page and choose desired workflow from the list.
